My Little Sunshine Playgroup
My Little Sunshine Playgroups offer a “stay and play” session that provides children with a safe space to learn through play.
Play is child-led; activities invite children to pick up and use given resources in whatever way their creativity and imagination leads them. Handling real life objects in play and role-playing realistic scenarios builds on life experiences; providing opportunities for talk and language development. Multiple senses are engaged as children are free to expore a range of materials.
Sessions are accessible for children 0-5 years old.
Each session has multiple activity stations set up for children to explore at their own pace. These might include water, sand, playdough, other messy play, tactile materials, objects to encourage role play, mark making, painting/art and craft material, fine and gross motor activities. musical instruments, books.
Sessions follow a theme with music and movement/singing at the end.
Certain activities will be more suited to a particular age than others. However, there is often the flexibility to adapt due to their open-ended nature.
A cosy, quieter area is always available during sessions with rugs, cushions and resources that support calm time. This is ideal for babies and age-appropriate activities are provided here when very little ones are present.
Parents are asked to supervise their child(ren) at all times and join in the fun!
Classes are run in the Hall at the Village Centre by Rachel Walsh on Tuesday from 9.30-10.45am.
Cost per session £7 per child (then £3 per sibling) – block booking is available.
