THE GREAT BIG GREEN WEEK

The Great Big Green Week is being celebrated nationwide starting on 8 June, and there’s lots going on in Englefield Green

As well as celebrating Green Cafe Week in our Cafe, we have two special cooking classes. On Thursday 13 June at The Village Centre, we have a honey themed kids’ cooking event at 3.30pm. Our local beekeeper, Richard Emmett, will join us with one of his beehive displays for the children. Huda will then give a cooking workshop, where the children will make honey based cereal bars. Our Mayor, Elaine Gill will also be attending the children’s cooking session.

Our ‘Green Week’ Adults’ cooking class will be on Friday 14 June, and Huda is preparing a fantastic vegetarian menu for everyone to make, using vegetarian surplus food items.

Pre booking is essential! Don’t delay, book your space on the Children’s and Adults’ Green Week cooking classes now, by calling 01784 471110 or emailing manager@villagecentre.org.uk

Next FREE adult’s cooking class is on Monday May 20th!

Last time, we discussed the Meditteranean diet and how Turkish cuisine fit into that healthier way of eating. For this class, we’ll be looking at Spanish cuisine and learning some delicious (and veggie heavy) tapas dishes.

To book, please email communityfridge@villagecentre.org.uk, and let us know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.

See you there! 💚
